1. General

This cookie policy provides information about how cookies and similar technologies are used on the Sponsor Plus website and platform at sponsor-plus.ch.

These technologies include, in particular, cookies, local storage, session storage, browser storage, technically embedded scripts, and similar storage and access technologies.

Sponsor Plus uses such technologies to the extent that they are necessary for the operation, security, provision of expressly requested features, or certain convenience features of the platform. Technologies that require consent for their use are generally only activated after corresponding consent has been given.

This cookie policy supplements the Privacy Policy of Sponsor Plus.

2. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small data units that can be stored on or read from the end device when visiting a website.

Local Storage enables a website or web application to store information in the browser. Depending on the respective technical configuration, this information may remain available even after closing the browser.

Session Storage is generally used for the temporary storage of information within a browser session.

Scripts are programs or parts of programs that can be executed when certain pages or features are accessed. Depending on the service, information can be processed or transmitted to external providers.

Not all of these technologies are used for analysis or advertising. Some are required to operate Sponsor Plus securely and properly or to provide a feature expressly requested by the user.

3. Categories of technologies used

Sponsor Plus distinguishes between the technologies used based on their respective purpose.

3.1 Necessary technologies

Necessary technologies are required for the secure and proper operation of the platform or for a feature expressly requested by the user.

They may serve the following purposes in particular:

• technical operation of the platform
• authentication and login
• session management
• security features
• protection against misuse and attacks
• technical communication with the platform infrastructure
• storage of cookie and consent settings
• provision of features expressly requested by the user

If a technology is technically necessary for these purposes, it cannot be deactivated via the cookie settings.

Certain necessary technologies are not used on every page view, but only when the relevant feature is actually accessed or explicitly selected.

3.2 Functional technologies

Functional technologies enable additional convenience, display, or personalization features that are not strictly necessary for the basic operation of the platform.

These may include, for example, certain display, branding, or user interface preferences.

If consent is required for a functional technology under applicable law, it will only be activated after the corresponding selection.

3.3 Statistical technologies

Statistical technologies can be used to evaluate the use of the platform and to support Sponsor Plus in improving features, usability, stability, or performance.

Statistical technologies requiring consent are only activated after the user has agreed to the corresponding category.

If a statistical technology is deactivated or merely prepared for later use, no corresponding analysis is performed.

3.4 Marketing technologies

Marketing technologies can be used in particular for the following purposes:

• conversion measurement
• campaign performance measurement
• personalized advertising
• assignment of user interactions
• marketing analysis

Marketing technologies requiring consent are only activated after the user has agreed to the corresponding category.

A marketing technology that is merely technically prepared or configured is not considered used as long as it is not actually activated.

The concrete overview of the technologies used, conditionally used, deactivated, or prepared at Sponsor Plus is provided on the basis of the central technical technology registry of Sponsor Plus.

The overview contains—where applicable for the respective technology—the following information in particular:

• name of the technology
• provider
• purpose
• category
• type of technology
• storage duration
• first-party or third-party
• technical necessity
• consent requirement
• activation condition
• status
• associated service

The technical overview distinguishes in particular between technologies that are:

• active,
• only activated under certain conditions,
• serve exclusively for the backend or platform infrastructure,
• currently deactivated, or
• merely prepared for potential future use.

The technology overview displayed on this page is generated from the current technical configuration of Sponsor Plus.

This allows changes in the technologies actually used to be reflected transparently in the overview.

5. Conditionally used technologies

Certain technologies are not automatically used every time the Sponsor Plus platform is visited.

They may, for example, only be activated when a user:

• logs in,
• explicitly selects a certain language,
• accesses a protected administration area,
• uses a certain organization feature,
• starts a payment process,
• uses an external payment service, or
• calls an external login feature.

The respective activation condition is indicated in the technology overview.

6. Payment services

Sponsor Plus may integrate external payment service providers for certain features.

These include in particular Payrexx and—if activated—Stripe.

These services are not loaded as a payment service automatically on every visit to the platform, but only in connection with the corresponding payment features or when the respective payment method is offered or accessed.

When using a payment service, technically necessary security, payment, or storage technologies may be used and data may be processed by the relevant provider.

7. External login features

If Sponsor Plus offers a login via an external provider, such as Google, the corresponding feature is only used in connection with this login option.

When accessing or using such a feature, data may be transmitted to the relevant provider, and the provider may use its own technologies.

An external login feature is not active on every page view solely because it is technically provided for on the platform.

8. Technical backend and platform infrastructure

Sponsor Plus uses various technical service providers for the operation of the platform.

This may include services for the following purposes in particular:

• hosting
• platform backend
• databases
• APIs
• authentication
• network and security features
• CDN and DDoS protection
• file and backup storage
• email sending

The inclusion of an infrastructure service provider in the technology overview does not automatically mean that this provider itself sets cookies or local storage entries in the browser when visiting the website.

9. Deactivated and prepared technologies

Sponsor Plus may technically deactivate technologies or prepare them for potential future use.

A deactivated technology is not used for the relevant analysis, statistics, or marketing purpose.

Even the technical preparation or configuration of a service does not mean that it already collects personal data or activates corresponding tracking technologies.

Before the future activation of such a technology, Sponsor Plus reviews the data protection and technical requirements.

If prior consent is required, the relevant technology will only be activated after corresponding consent.

10. Cookie banner and cookie settings

Sponsor Plus provides a cookie and consent management system.

During the first visit or if a new selection is required due to a significant change, users can define their cookie settings.

Depending on the current configuration, the following options are available in particular:

• Accept all
• Reject optional
• Settings

The available categories can be managed via the settings.

Optional technologies requiring consent are generally not activated solely because a user:

• calls up the website,
• scrolls on the page,
• navigates to another page, or
• merely receives the cookie notice.

If consent is required, activation only occurs after a corresponding selection.

11. Storage of the cookie decision

Sponsor Plus technically stores the cookie or consent decision so that the user's selection can be taken into account and documented.

This may include storing the following in particular:

• pseudonymous consent token
• time of the decision
• selected categories
• type of action performed
• consent version
• configuration version

According to the current technical configuration, Sponsor Plus stores no IP address and no user agent for the cookie consent.

The consent token serves the technical assignment or traceability of the cookie setting and is not directly linked to a person.

12. Consent and configuration version

Sponsor Plus uses versioning for the cookie and consent configuration.

In this context, a consent version and a configuration version can be used in particular.

A new consent decision may become necessary if essential elements requiring consent change, for example due to:

• introduction of a new category requiring consent
• introduction of a new statistics service
• introduction of a new marketing service
• significant change to a processing purpose
• other changes that make renewed consent necessary

If the stored consent version no longer matches the required current version, Sponsor Plus may display the cookie banner again and require a new selection.

13. Changing and withdrawing consent

Consent granted for optional technologies can be changed or withdrawn at any time with future effect.

For this purpose, the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of the Sponsor Plus platform can be used.

In the event of a withdrawal, storage information of the affected optional categories controllable by Sponsor Plus will be removed or deactivated as far as technically possible.

Cookies or other storage information already set by third-party providers may not be immediately deletable by Sponsor Plus under certain circumstances.

Users can additionally manage and delete such information via their browser settings.

The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out until the withdrawal.

14. Rejecting optional technologies

Users can reject optional technologies.

Rejecting statistical or marketing technologies requiring consent does not prevent the use of the basic technically necessary features of the Sponsor Plus platform.

However, certain voluntary convenience features may be restricted if an optional technology required for them has not been activated.

15. Legal basis

Sponsor Plus takes the respective applicable legal requirements into account when using cookies and similar technologies.

For users in Switzerland, the provisions of Swiss data protection law and relevant telecommunications regulations apply in particular.

To the extent that European data protection and ePrivacy regulations are applicable to the use of Sponsor Plus, cookies and similar technologies requiring consent are generally only activated after the required consent has been granted.

Technologies that are required for secure technical operation or the provision of a feature expressly requested by the user can be used without prior consent in accordance with the applicable legal requirements.

The legal basis for subsequent processing of personal data is to be distinguished from the question of whether prior consent is required for the storage of or access to information on the end device.

16. Storage duration

The storage duration depends on the respective technology and its purpose.

Sponsor Plus distinguishes in particular between:

• session-related technologies,
• time-limited persistent technologies,
• technologies that persist until logout,
• technologies that persist until a setting is changed, and
• technical configuration information.

The specific storage duration is—where applicable—indicated in the current technology overview.

17. Browser settings

Users can additionally manage, block, or delete cookies and stored website data via their browser settings.

Completely blocking technically necessary cookies or browser storage technologies may result in certain features of Sponsor Plus not functioning or not functioning fully.

The settings in the browser are independent of the cookie settings within the Sponsor Plus platform.

18. Rights of data subjects

To the extent that personal data is processed in connection with cookies or similar technologies, data subjects are entitled to the rights under the respective applicable data protection law.

These may include in particular:

• right to information
• right to rectification
• right to erasure
• right to restriction of certain processing
• right to data portability, where applicable
• right to object, where applicable
• right to withdraw consent granted with future effect

19. Changes to this Cookie Policy

Sponsor Plus may adapt this cookie policy, particularly if the following change:

• the technologies used,
• technical features,
• service providers,
• processing purposes,
• legal requirements, or
• the technical architecture of the platform.

The current version is published on the Sponsor Plus platform.

In the event of significant changes to technologies requiring consent or processing purposes, a review will be conducted as to whether renewed consent is required.
